Observations of the short-period variable star HD 200925 made with the Coravel radial velocity spectrometer in order to determine the nature of the object are reported. Two complete cycles of radial velocity variations were observed and used to determine a period of 0.26765 plus or minus 0.00005 days, in agreement with its photometric period. Calculations based on the above period and spectroscopic observations are found to result in orbit parameters incompatible with a W UMa eclipsing binary-type system, implying that HD 200925 is most likely a pulsating star of the Delta Scuti type. In addition, examination of the radial velocity curves reveals the presence of amplitude variations, which may be due to a second pulsation mode superimposed on the principal, and integration of its three-harmonic Fourier series representation over an average cycle indicates a stellar radius variation of 0.15 solar radii.
