A new deep spectrum of the remnant of Kepler's supernova of 1604
exhibits limes of H, He I, He II, Ca II, Mg I, [N I], [O II], [O III],
[Ne III], [Fe II], and [Fe III]. The observed spectrum is
qualitatively consistent with a model in which the circumstellar
envelope of the supernova of 1604 was excited by a strong shock.
