Accurate coordinates of the optical counterparts have been determined, relative to reference stars of the Perth 70 Catalogue, for a sample of 25 extragalactic radio sources between 0 and -45 deg declination with precise interferometrical positions. For 24 of these objects, positions were found with internal accuracies at the 0.3 arc sec level in both coordinates. Three new optical identifications are reported. From the differences between radio and optical positions the adjustment of the right ascension zero-point adopted for the radio measurements was assessed with an accuracy of 0.01 s while the radio and optical declination systems agree within 0.1 arc sec mean error. The adjustment, however, is based on limited observational data. A comparison is made between the present optical positions and those published by other authors and based on other reference catalogues.
