A total of 117 echelle spectra of Io's neutral sodium cloud have been taken during the 1988/89 Jupiter opposition. The spectra, which are cataloged herein, were taken at D-line wavelengths (5890 A and 5896 A) on 15 nights over a 5 month period and were centered on Io. In addition to the 'normal' slow sodium cloud (line of sight velocities of 2-3 km/s), high velocity neutral sodium atoms have been observed on several occasions showing maximum line of sight velocities of around 80 km/s. Double peak structures in the velocity distribution have also been observed with peak differential column abundances at around 0 and 40 km/s. Spectra separated by a period of 31.86d (a beat period between Jupiter's rotational period and Io's orbital period) showed almost identical velocity distributions and similar column abundances. Observations taken with the same observing geometry but at a different magnetic field configuration were substantially different. Fast neutral production rates were highly variable but at times of high fast sodium abundances estimates of around 2-5 10 exp 25 atom/s were derived.
