A project of searching for metal-poor stars with Large sky Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) is presented. The survey consists of two observational modes for different research targets. One is the search for metal-poor star candidates through low resolution (R = 1000-2000) spectroscopic survey. Another is a follow-up observation with medium resolution (R = 10000-15000) spectrographs aiming on detailed studies of the metal-poor stars.
