The BAA Variable Star Section (BAAVSS) computerised archive for the
class SRb semiregular variable U Boötis spans an interval of over
80 years. Upon analysis the observations yield periods of 201.5 and
100.35 days (in a ratio close to 2:1). Contrary to the existing
literature, the data do not imply that mode-switching is taking place.
