This paper describes the wideband feed system of the elemental Cassegrain antenna used to form the Australia Telescope array. The development of the feed horn and orthomode transducer is put in an historical perspective and how the system evolved is discussed. Results are given showing the performance of the various components as well as the overall behavior of the antenna.
