The observed microlensing variability of QSO 2237+0305 has already given important information in the structure of the quasar, the mass of the stars which causes the microlensing, and the transverse motions involved. A discussion on how more precise information can be obtained if observations can also be carried out from a space observatory some astronomical units away from the Earth, since in this case the spatial gradient of the observed flux can be measured, is presented. The inclusion of a telescope (greater than or equal to 20 cm) for such observations in a future space mission is proposed.
