The variation in the ratio of the intensity of the emission line 4363
forbidden O to the intensity of the H-gamma emission line in the
spectrum of the starlike PN IC 4997 during 1938-1990 is discussed. A
scenario of this star's evolutionary development based on this variation
is briefly given.
