A comparison of three values of the third order permittivity constant of quartz obtained independently by three different methods is presented. Each method produces a value of a different order of magnitude and there is no uniformity in sign among them. The difference between the value obtained by the resonator method and the older, original value obtained by the capacitor method, is not statistically significant. On the other hand, the values obtained by the transit time method differs significantly from the previous two results.
