The study of some representative examples of the initial conditions for solutions to the general three-body problem by numerical simulations has allowed us to uncover basic types of motions in stable and unstable triple systems. The character of motions of the bodies in these cases is described, and the regions of initial conditions for such motions are found. A classification of close triple approaches that do or do not lead to immediate escape is given for equal-mass systems, as well as for selected sets of unequal-mass components.
