Astrometry, Planets And Satellites, Methods: Data Analysis

Scientific paper

A procedure to find the astrometric positions of digitized images of natural satellites is presented. This procedure particularly aims at obtaining positions of faint satellites near bright planets. These results are applied to photographic and CCD observations of the Uranian satellites and compared with visual measures. The procedure enables us to obtain a very small dispersion in the positions of the Uranian satellites.
