Non-radial pulsations (NRPs) and magnetic field have been proposed as possible mechanisms to explain the episodic ejection of material observed in Be stars. Multiperiodicity has been detected in line-profile variations of Be stars and has been generally attributed to NRPs. Up to now, only beta Cep is known to be a Be star hosting a magnetic field. However, a magnetic field has been detected in two other early-B types stars. Together with beta Cep they are the only 3 magnetic early-B stars discovered, but this new class of objects gives hope in the search for magnetic field in Be stars.
