Effective temperatures for the M dwarf stars observed by Berriman and
Reid in 1987 are recalculated, using updated apparent magnitudes where
appropriate. The results show that the corrections to the photometry
have little effect on the derived temperatures, and the Berriman and
Reid results remain a valid temperature scale for low-mass stars.
