The excess emission of the S252 HII in the 12-micron band is investigated using IRAS data. The infrared emission intensity at 12 microns is found to be several orders of magnitude greater than that predicted by the standard dust distribution model. The ratios I12/I25 and I12/I100 increase with the distance from the main exciting star. These results are explained by the nonequilibrium emission from the small grains (including PAHs and small graphite grains) and by the destructive effect of the strong radiation field on the PAHs in the region surrounding the early-type star. The contribution from small grains in S252 is estimated at 36 percent of the total diffuse infrared emission.
