The present conference covers, in the form of extended abstracts, topics in the fields of Mars Surveyor program planning, Martian exobiology, Martian climate history, Mars sample return requirements, and geological resources on Mars. Attention is given to Earth environment protection from a Mars sample return, human exploration in the Sample Return Mission context, Mars exopaleontology, amino acids' detection on Mars, searches for biogeochemical cycles on Mars, Mars climate change modeling, Mars igneous rocks and impact breccias, Martian volatiles and isotopic signatures, and Mars surface materials.
