Scientific paper

The paper presents a refined calculation of the spectral dependence of the extinction coefficient for an aerosol medium consisting of a 75% solution of H2SO4 in the 20-1400/cm spectral region. Bands of sulfuric acid are obtained which have been identified in the Venus spectrum. The particle concentration in the upper cloud layer of Venus was estimated. The results are compared with Venera 9 and 10 radiometer data and with Pioneer-Venus data.
