The resonance hypothesis is applied to study the pulsations of RV Tauri
stars using linear, adiabatic pulsation periods. No simple resonance
explanation for their characteristic pulsation properties is found.
Non-linear investigations seem necessary for a satisfactory description
of RV Tau variables, and several non-linear effects are discussed.
