Two possible mechanisms are considered leading to the rotation of elliptical galaxies in compact clusters such as the Coma cluster. Firstly, the elliptical galaxies acquire an angular momentum due to the tidal interaction with each other. Secondly, the interaction between "pancakes", also generates their rotation. After the desintegration of the "pancake", the separated protogalaxies receive the angular velocities approximately equal to that of the parent "pancake". The estimates are conform to the observed angular momentum of elliptical galaxies.
