The morphologies of galaxies within dense environments have undergone a remarkable transition over the past several billion years. Distant clusters at redshifts z=0.5 are filled with small spiral galaxies, many of which are disturbed and show evidence for multiple bursts of star formation. Nearby clusters contain many S0 galaxies that are not observed at higher redshifts. The cluster environment is a harsh place to live for fragile spiral galaxies -- they can be transformed into a completely different morphological class via the effects of "galaxy harassment" and interactions with the viscous intra-cluster medium.
