The authors consider the problem of the ellipticity variation of the isophotes and their twisting in an elliptical galaxy, and generalize the discrete model treated by Benacchio & Galletta (1980) into a continuous model. The isophotes are found by numerical integration of the corresponding surface brightness integral. Some special cases are calculated and compared with those obtained in the discontinuous model of Benacchio & Galletta.
