Vertical (0-200-km altitude) profiles of temperature and pressure for the Titan atmosphere are calculated on the basis of simplified approximations involving empirical polynomials and exponential functions. The model equations are presented; the determination of the nonzero parameter values employed in the calculations is outlined; and the profiles are compared with the Voyager radio-occultation data compiled by Lindal et al. (1983). Generally good agreement is obtained, except for the temperature values in the altitude range 66-86 km.
