Polarimetry, Planetary Observation
Scientific paper
In Part I polarisation curves (taken from various sources) were presented for a representative selection of airless solar system objects. Part II showed how the polarimetric properties of simulated planetary surfaces could be measured in the laboratory and compared with astronomical data. This, the final part of the paper, will describe some of the theoretical models that have been suggested to account for the polarisation in light scattered from a rough, particulate surface.
