The theory of acoustic wave propagation in a structured moving
atmosphere is presented. It is shown that the phase velocity of acoustic
waves in the atmosphere differs from the sound speed and depends on the
frequency and the direction of propagation. The effect of the dispersion
and anisotropy of waves on p-modes in the convection zone is discussed.
