The IUE and developed data reduction techniques were used to separate spectra of UV knots of stellar complexes and to probe the spatial extent and morphology of nebular emission in the inner regions of NGC 1068. The IUE data show that most of the starburst activity occurs in isolated bright knots in the inner spiral arms. The UV spectra of the observed knots are dominated by light of extremely luminous stars (possibly hypergiants) near B0-B2 in spectral type. Results show unusually strong emission of very high ionization extending at least 25 arcsec to the NE of the nucleus coinciding with (O III) traced out at optical wavelengths. Emission from red-shifted H I, N V, N IV), C IV, He II, and C III) is clearly present. Whether the ionization is due to high velocity shocks, an asymmetric radiation field from the central source, or another mechanism is not clear.
