Results from a coordinated study of optical and UV absorption-line
profiles seen toward SN1987a in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) are
presented. The gas at velocities intermediate between that associated
with either our own Galaxy or the LMC appears to be warm (10,000 K) and
only slightly depleted.
