IRAS sky maps of a 3°×3° region centered on the Serpens molecular core show several point sources and a 1°×1° distribution of extended infrared emission at all four IRAS bands. Some infrared point sources are identified with known PMS and T Tauri stars. Large-scale extended emission associated with three B type stars, HD 170634, 170739 and 170784, has been detected. The 60/100 μm color temperatures around these two stars with an assumed dust emissivity law ν1.5 are 19 - 29K. The luminosity of the extended emission is about 3200 L_sun; at a distance of 700 pc. The total mass inferred from the extended emitting dust is about 290 M_sun;. The temperature distribution and total luminosity of the extended emission requires heating by a stellar and an interstellar radiation field. Heating by the interstellar radiation field dominates in most parts of the extended emission region. It is likely that there is little dust very close to the stars.
