We present a UV-optical analysis of a complex cloud-shock interaction region known as ``XA'' in the Cygnus Loop supernova remnant. We combine optical [O III] lambda 5007 and Hα images and a far-UV image from the Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope with far-UV spectral data at 5 positions from the Hopkins Ultraviolet Telescope (HUT) and 22 spatially-resolved, low resolution IUE spectra in the 1200-2000 Angstroms range. By mapping the spatial variations of strong forbidden, intercombination, and resonance lines across the region, we attempt to unravel the competing causes of the observed spatial variations, such as shock velocity or ionization variations, shock incompleteness, and resonance line scattering effects. By combining with low resolution optical longslit and echelle spectra, we hope to investigate the three-dimensional structure in this region to better understand the cloud-shock interaction process.
