The capabilities of the Chandra X-ray Observatory and XMM-Newton for high resolution spectroscopy have, at long last, brought traditional plasma diagnostic techniques to the study of cosmic coronal plasma. Objects from young proto-stars through active binaries to massive O stars have been probed to an unprecedented level of detail. Many of these show remarkably rich spectra, bristling with emission lines. Studies reveal emission measure distributions, abundance anomalies, accretion disk and wind signatures, and time variability. This talk will present an overview with examples of selected recent spectral analyses.
