The eastern rim of the Vela supernova remnant is complex: the brightest of the protrusions from the rim, fragment D, extends eastward of a bright, sharply defined rim. We propose three pointings: two covering the brightest portions of the rim (likely a nearly edge-on partially radiative shock) and a third intermediate between the rim and the head of fragment D. The partially radiative shock is decelerating, and we will be able to examine temperature, pressure, and ionization structure profiles through the rim. If fragment D really is a supersonic ejecta fragment, then stripping from the sides will enhance the abundances in the wake. We will be able to determine whether abundances are enhanced in this wake, and track the wake through the rim.
