The quasars PG1001+054 and PG1404+226 will be observed with the FOSto measure the continuum energy distribution, the emission lineintensity, and line profiles of these two quasars with exceptionallylarge values of alpha_ox, the optical to x-ray flux ratio If thex-ray emission in quasars influences their UV/optical spectra - as isexpected, for example, in the re-radiation models -then we expect thespectral properties of these two quasars to differ from those of otherquasars with normal values of alpha_ox.
