The identification of massive black holes in normal galaxies is a crucial link in establishing the validity of the standard AGN paradigm. The presence of hidden, massive black holes in nearby nuclei is suggested by their central role as the energy source for an accretion disk or torus, and by the sharp decline in the density of luminous quasars since their peak at z ~ 2 - 3. We are proposing here to continue our program from earlier cycles. We wish to i} continue FOS stellar spectroscopy from Cycle 4 to search for central dispersion cusps and high rotation velocities; and ii} image a selected set of galaxies with bright cores to find targets for future FOS stellar spectroscopy. We also identify and propose small increments to the core observational program that greatly augment the value of the total database for the study of many other problems.
