Both a large visible wavelength telescope with coronagraph, and infrared interferometers, are regarded to be viable architectures for the Terrestrial Planet Finder Mission. We describe progress made in defining coronagraphic implementation with a large stable spaceborne telescope and optimized masks. System implementation follows closely from detailed astronomical definition of mission requirements. The process of convergence on a coronagraphic observatory that satisfies full mission requirements is illustrated.
