WILL you allow me to add a few points supplementary to the very full obituary notice of the late Dr. Glaisher, which appeared in NATURE of Jan. 26. One outstanding trait of his character was his extreme accuracy, which often made him undertake a journey to London to settle a minor historical or bibliographical point by referring to the actual books, when only quotations or copies of titles were available to him. His ``Report on Mathematical Tables'' (1873) perhaps best illustrates this characteristic. The Report is marvellously complete, and it would be very difficult to discover a mistake in it. Those who have undertaken work of this kind will understand the difficulty of producing such a flawless work.
