The continuum emission in spectra of 18 comets is investigated on the basis of McDonald Observatory Faint Comet Survey data. Cometary gas-to-dust ratios (GDRs) are found to increase with increasing cometary activity, as measured by QCN. The increase in GDR with Q is consistent with dust production being proportional to gas production raised to a power.
