Magnetic Inductive Drag, Conductive Satellite, Circular Radius Variation

Scientific paper

The perturbation effect of magnetic induction drag on the variation of the radius of the circular orbit of the conductive satellite moving in the earth's magnetic field and the electrical conductive space is mainly examined by using the two methods. One method is a method of the power and energy transfer, and another method is a perturbative method. The theoretical results show that the magnetic inductive drag results in the secular and periodic variation of the orbital radius of the satellite with time. The secular variation results in the contraction of the orbital radius. In addition, the perturbation effects of the magnetic inductive drag on the other orbital elements are also discussed. The results obtained are concluded.
