(C-12)O J = 1 - 0 and 2 - 1 emission is reported from a highly confined (about 20 arcsec) region east of M81. Being associated with the M81 group of galaxies, the molecular complex (about 10 exp 6 - 10 exp 7 solar masses) is likely of intergalactic nature and may represent the missing link between the extended HI clouds of high column density and the young dwarf irregulars observed in this region.
