We present the results of an investigation of 184 sources selected from the IRAS Point Source Catalog, situated in a region of 1309 deg-squared in Scorpio-Centaurus-Lupus. The sources satisfy flux density criteria suited to the selection of candidate young stellar objects (YSOs), namely, high or moderate quality flux at both 25 and 60 microns, and S(12) is less than S(25). Identifications are assigned on the basis of IRAS photometry, known associations, and the appearance of proposed optical associations on the POSS (E, O) prints and/or SERC (J, R) films. Of the 184 sources, 62 are identified with galaxies and 39 are identified with evolved galactic objects (main sequence stars, AGB, and post-AGB stars, or planetary nebulae). A total of 28 sources are confirmed as YSOs, all but two of which lie towards dark clouds. A further 11 sources located in the vicinity of OB stars may represent condensations of locally-heated interstellar matter. The 44 remaining sources are potentially YSOs on the basis of IRAS data, but in all cases alternative interpretations (as galaxies or evolved galactic objects) are also possible.
