Observations of absorption lines produced by sulfur in the interstellar gas are studied. The column densities of sulfur are compared with total hydrogen column densities, and mean space density of neutral hydrogen. A linear correlation is detected between depletion of sulfur and the mean space density of neutral hydrogen. The relation between the depletion of sulfur and mean space density of hydrogen for some stars in the Ophiuchi and Perseus complexes is analyzed.
