The gravitational effect of the stellar component in a massive star cluster on the propagation of intense adiabatic shock waves is analyzed on the basis of the infinitely thin layer approximation. The equations of shock-wave motion are obtained and solved. In addition, an analysis is made of the gravitational effect of the stellar component on the shock-wave velocity and the maximum distance traversed by the wave. It is concluded that the gravitational interaction between gas and the stellar component can be a highly significant factor in the study of shock-wave motion near massive star clusters.
