The geological and chemical compositions of the Bosumtwi crater are described. The suevite glasses and the average target rocks of the Bosumtwi crater and the tektites of the Ivory Coast are analyzed and compared. It is observed that there is good correlation between the means for the three specimens; however, the suevite glasses and tektites have smaller compositional ranges than the Bosumtwi target rocks. The effects of vapor fractionation on Rb, Pb, P2O5, and Na2O concentrations in the tektites are investigated. The possible presence of meteoritic components in the tektites is studied.
