We request sub-arcsec resolution polarimetric observations of the high redshift radio galaxy PKS 0529-549 in the 12 mm band, using any of the 6 km array configurations. These observations will be combined with optical and near-infrared data, including detailed Spitzer Space Telescope observations, to complete a comprehensive multi-wavelength study of this source. In particular, we shall identify the precise locations of the radio lobes and core, allowing us to constrain the orientation of the source by determining the radio core fraction, lobe flux density ratios and lobe distance ratios. These crucial parameters of the non-thermal radio emission will be compared with the stellar masses obtained from our Spitzer data to examine the influence of radio activity and black hole mass on the host galaxy properties. In addition, we will examine the source environment by using the polarisation measurements to obtain rotation measures (RMs) of the radio lobes. Previous observations have found very high RMs in high redshift radio galaxies, indicative of a dense environment in which the radio source is expanding. Moreover, this project will be used as a pilot study of the polarimetric properties of high redshift radio galaxies at 12 mm.
