We request LBA time to obtain second epoch high resolution, wide field, sensitive imaging observations at 2.3 GHz of compact radio sources in the nearby starburst galaxy NGC 253. We will search for new supernova remnants and monitor the structure and evolution of existing remnants to improve current estimates of the supernova rate in the nuclear region, using different estimation methods enabled by the sensitivity and resolution provided by these observations.
