On MJD 53831.3 (April 6, 2006) during regular RXTE/PCA monitoring of AXP 4U 0142+61, we detected a single small SGR-like burst. The burst is similar to the smallest burst seen from AXP 1E 1048-5937, lasting approximately 1.8 s and having total fluence approximately 100 counts in the 2-20 keV band, with 3 operational PCUs. Optical/IR observations of the source and its putative debris disk may be warranted.
