We present our results of the determination of the interstellar extinction represented by the E(B-V) value for a set of the symbiotic stars. In our analysis we have used ultraviolet spectra obtained by the IUE satellite during its complete operational period. Our method is based on elimination of the well known broad absorbtion feature around 2200AA. A continuum determination is described, as well as a procedure from the elimination of the 2200AA bump. Using this method, we determined the interstellar extinction for 52 symbiotic systems.
