A version of the one-zone model, the weakly coupled monomode model, is derived, showing that the small parameter in stellar pulsation is the coupling term in the momentum equation. A crude model of similar derivation is found that describes a portion of the convection-pulsation interaction. The latter model shows that the time dependence of the perturbation in the convection variables can be an important part of the convection-pulsation interaction. With the assumptions made, the pulsation is stabilized when the convection field is unstable and vice versa.
