We continue to monitor the radial velocities of about 1400 candidates to the SIM Planet Quest reference grid stars in the Northern hemisphere. Spectra of some 800 red giants, not contaminated by reference iodine lines are available for analysis. We present a preliminary version of a code for deriving Teff, log g, [Fe/H], and v sini for selected stars. The code fits artificial spectra (made with the MOOG package and Kurucz model stellar atmosphere) to the observed ones. Analysis of one hundred stars selected randomly from the main sample indicates that most of the pre-selected stars are K-giants with somewhat subsolar metallicity. The project is supported by NASA grant NRA-99-04-OSS-058.
