A regular programme of observations of the Sun with a prismatic astrolabe is under way at the "Abrahão de Moraes" Observatory (φ=23°00.1'S, λ=3h07m52sW) of the University of São Paulo. The main purpose of this programme is the determination of the corrections to the equinox and equator of the reference system, and to the Earth's orbital elements. The same instrument is used for stellar and planetary transit observations. The measurement of planetary, solar and lunar positions is important for an improved understanding of the dynamics of the solar system and defining an inertial coordinate system in fundamental astrometry. In order to avoid personal biases in measurement performed with the prismatic astrolabe and to define better the limbs of the Sun, a system using a CCD camera was developed. The author discusses the results of the determinations of corrections to the FK5 equinox and equator, the correction of the Earth's orbital elements and the possible variations of the solar radius.
