We examine the connection between total solar irradiance forcing and temperature anomalies for terrestrial climate response, mainly considering direct satellite measurements for solar cycle timescales. Using the wavelet technique approach we are able to follow with more accuracy the time evolution of the correlation and the related phase lag between the two signals. The results suggest a complex feature for solar irradiance and climate response, involving stochastic resonance and internal nonlinear interactions. For this reason both theoretical and experimental efforts are needed to obtain more accurate results and reliable interpretation of the Sun-climate connection.
