The nearby, extremely powerful radio galaxy Cygnus A stands out as having an atypically low far-infrared/radio luminosity ratio. It is demonstrated that objects displaying such a low ratio have a radio-loudness which is anomalously high. This fact is connected to these objects inhabiting dense X-ray haloes. The enhanced radio emission is most likely due to strong radiation losses in the dense environment. It must be concluded that radio luminosity is not a good measure of AGN power.
